What does it mean to be equally yoked? 

Definition: following God at the same pace as the person you are in relationship with.

This is about the way you seek God. 

This is how much you desire to see Jesus in all areas of your life and the commitment you make to seek Him.

I challenge to define what this means to you yourself! 

Deuteronomy 22:10, where Moses instructed Israel, “Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together.”

And this is where we get the idea that one can overpower the other. If one is pulling more than the other, somebody is bound to get hurt. 

This is why we are praying for unity in our future marriages (or even our current ones!) we want to see an Ecclesiastes 4 relationship where is says a cord of three strands cannot be broken, this is the relationship between, your boyfriend/spouse, God, and you. There is a understanding that we are all in this together working towards becoming more unified and growing closer and closer to Jesus everyday at the same pace
